Hola!

This year BBFIN-meet starts with some blasting & we were testing few loads for guys to shoot with. After testing the rounds we fired one exercise with one of the guns:

http://heggis.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Shooting/B ... l.wmv/full

So this load was 300 grain bullet @ 410 m/s = PF 400 - for comparison normal 9mm has PF 135. What ever - I need to learn how to shoot...

Yeah I'll post them at somepoint... I just have to post them somewhere else for a while before "releasing the pics to public" ;)

Don't say 'may' be available later.

Make it so :)

And I know: minus 5C means, no cows outside. Yay, we we're safe for a moment !!

Well was shooting in Padasjoki with the .50 but because I was shooting someone else had to use my camera and they didn't know what they were doing so no muzzleflashes (which were great btw!) but here's the DE in pretty much full recoil with 300gr bullet going at 410,4 m/s so that's 1637J of energy. You should get to about 460m/s speeds in safe pressure but it was -5C and prolly little shy on the powder (aka not my gun so don't want to break it..). But still, that gave a nice little push for the wrists

And no the casing didn't hit my head, it flies past me over my right shoulder.

We also shot into bulletproof vests and ballistic gelatin with various guns but those pictures may be available later...

What??? Really don't see the problem with that. Some of us don't use all of our time spamming forums you know ;) The powder is not gonna blow up in a mushroomcloud from typing the keyboard...

...next you're prolly saying I shouldn't have guns and ammo near the keyboard too!! Btw atm I can reach to 4 pistols (.22lr, .38super, .45acp, .50ae) without moving my ass an inch from this desk ;)

Edit: Just for the fun of it... took pictures... First one right of keyboard and the next left of keyboard (front edge of computercase is next to the blue ammobox that contains .338LM rounds  ) There are guns, primers, powder, bullets, guncleaningsolvents, gunoils etc :)

So? :?

You know you're supposed to put the powder into the casings not to spill it all over the place... And that's pretty much the only place where I have room to do that. My reloading table... well it's... uhm... full of gunparts/bullets/casing etc...

Because you want to know more... Here are some of the specs of the ammo...

Startload was 32,0 grains of Hodgdon H110.

Image

Now here's the estimated pressure curve for this load. As you can see this is a Max-20% load.

Image

From there I went with 0,5 grain increments to "max" load of 34,5 grains of H110.

Image

Pressure curve for this load looks a bit more promising in terms of recoil...

Image

The last loads should get the 300 grain bullet going at 445m/s so thats 1925J of energy :) And the sweetest part is that at the end of the barrel the amount of powder burnt is 77.5%, the rest will burn outside the barrel making a huge fireball  8)
