Or

1)buy a new TRG-42
2)take the factory 690mm barrel off and throw it into a pond.
3)buy a Shilen 760mm barrel
4)attach it to the TGR-42 action
5)Enjoy!

Nobody said that it's cheap... :lol:

Basic economics - check the price in US & you might find a reason..
http://www.sakousa.com/
They are selling those in US so cheap trying to make a hole in markets for themselves that they have to take the money from somewhere else - unfortunately it's us...

For example:
Sako 85 Hunter 1469$ => here 1618? = 2075$
Sako 85 varmint 1599$ => here 2067? = 2650$

It would be easier to understand if they were made there & shipped in, but when it's the other way around. If you want a good TRG in Finland you have to be bit sneaky, know the right people & order it from Estonia to get one that is made like it should be. You might even get it cheaper than the normal "civilian version"...

well u can get good parts around the world ! BUT if they just "through" the things together without putting in the final "touch" into it.... well you can buy something better down at the local toystore !!

No !! "Bedding" of the stock, and polish action in the bed is the only way !!
(PS: not sure if its called bedding in english hmmmm)

sad to hear about Sako !!

Yeah in the old days the barrels were made in Finland, actions were made in Finland, stocks were made in Finland and then assembled in Finland and fitted by gunsmiths.

After Beretta bought the company the globalisation began and all Beretta was interested was Sako as a brand. Nowadays barrels come from somewhere in central europe, stocks come from Spain, actions come from somewhere and then they are assembled in Finland. And they are assembled not fitted... For instance one place they cut corners is the final lapping of the barrel. They don't do that anymore (except military cotracts).

Like said nowadays Sako is just a brand, no real value in itself. And after Beretta bought Sako the manufacturing costs went down but price went up, basic economics :)
