Ice2 (2.09b) Anticheatpatch.

Well, I see no possibility how a patch could really cause lag without editing any critical settings in windows registry/system files, updating modem bios/drivers or stronly editing the net code of the game. And those are something that the patch really does not. And i got no idea why would vertigo like to cause lag neither?? I've played with the patch on a snaps server few times now, and have not noticed *any* difference to usual. (even cheats work <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :lol --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> ) Neither other ppl who are using the patch all the time have noticed difference, except less cheaters. <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :) --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> And if there really would be more lag, i guess *nobody* would be using it anymore.<br>

BROz are not using the patch because Samurai had problems connecting to server anymore (there was possibly a logical explanation like wrong version of the patch?) and BB told that he was having some kinda delay (???). And now, another reason is that ppl don't really even need the patch to connect to a patched game.<br>

Personally i'd still like to use/try the patch as long as it is not causing problems to anyone non-cheater, because i still do believe that it stops most of the cheaters. So i also believe that also cheaters are visiting on our home servers.<br>

Also i believe that most of the cheaters are on ladder games, but i believe that all of us are playing *at least* weekly with cheaters also.<br>

And to be honest I preffer a lagfree game where some of the opponents show that they have zero mental stability and tries to boost their ego with cheating before a laggy game which may be cheatfree for the first 3 days until someone makes a new cheatpatch. <br>

My personal view of the problem is that patches will never end the cheating problem, but verbal assaults on the once suspected will. I cant understand why anyone would cheat in the kind of games I like to play (friendly games and "free games"). <br>

And my (very controversal) view is that cheaters will connect to ladder games of different sorts, since thats the only place (except from maybe mplayer and zone) where you can get some sort of status by getting alot of kills. <br>

Well the new name is cool, but it's "protections" can be bypassed as easily as in 2.07, whatever vert is talkig about. And yes, you can green up and select gold team. <br>

To you ODS mates (or any ppl using the patch), i don't recommend you to swear by these patches. Anyone who understand's *anything* about computers (ok, most cheaters are complete lamerz and dont <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :) --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> ), can easily enter a ice 2 game without the patch. And yes, I've done so.<br>

But cows, i dont believe that the patch had anything to do with your probs. Or if it did, clicking uninstall would have removed them all. At least im 100% sure that patch stops cheats (when everyone really have it i mean) and there is no any god damn viirii thing in it. Hello Cows and all, i saw that u were arguing about patch 2.07... Well, that is an 'old' patch now if u havent heard... The latest patch is called Ice2 (2.09b) named after the person that bought it from Vertigo, namely Riym_Ice.<br>
