ezboard sucks :(

Post by rastapopoulos »

If cows were ment to fly, Darwin would had given them wings...

I have a game to recommend. Its a small neat little game called Sid Meyer's Golf. Only drawback is the unability to disable sounds, so simultaneous winamp listening is a no go

Well, well...

Hmmm, must say that the first idea of your where pretty good, so from here on I will use a 1-6 graded scale in which 6 is the best.

But the trademark of "Angelcow gamereview Inc." is to rate and review NEW games. Il2 is definetely not a new game.

No, my muuing friends, it is not new just because you have just discovered it. New games are often recognised by for example actual presense in shops. No I dont mean in the "classics" part of the shop. Try the front of the shop and look at the "news" shelf. Dont be afraid of the unfamiliar feeling of those multicolored boxes, they are just as good as your grey-white once.

But since angelcow gamereviews inc is sensible to pressure from the herd, we include a review of IL2 in this post.

Il2
Played by alot of cows in cooperative (lol) mode, this games most noticable feature is its ability to steal cows from their natural Uo pasture. But it also have support for multiplayer cirkling around eachother, and a built in 2d gameengine. I think my mentors comment "its photo-graphix" explains it all: It is like flying over a photography. What I wonder is why would I like to fly over a photography?
Rating: 1 (1-6 scale, 1 is worst 6 is best)

Oh, and to compensate for the review of old games I want to add a comment about a new one: The legendary game Warriorkings will have a sequel, which will be released in mars. It will be called Warriorkings: Battles , and will have some minor gameplay changes (like druids and so on), but is actually more or less an mutliplayer adopted version of warriorkings. Including easier game hosting/joining, multiplayer training vs ai and new gamemodes like the valhalla mode where people who are to stupid to handle economy while fighting can buy units and charge eachother.
Gamesite:<a href="http://www.warriorkingsbattles.com/theG ...

If you cant wait for wk: Battles, go and play war and peace, which uses the same engine but takes place in the 19th century.
I think its time for me to resurrect an old habit of mine: The habit of answering my own posts <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">
I must say that you had some very nice points in your previous post E. But looking at it it looks like you more or less have two grades on your "game measurement scale" (very good or very bad), maybe it should be more worthwhile if you developed say a 10 graded system for rating games. Just a suggestion.

Oh and it has come to my knowledge that alot of people are playing Il2, maybe you should also rate that game?

Keep up the good work E!
Game reviews

Post by Cows Engel »

Since Im borded during the installation of Civ3 I think I will enlighten you with some reviews of games I have played lately:

Hearts of iron
A strategy game in ww2 setting and could have been soooo good (read-"axis and allies -good"). But is totally unplayable because of the detail level. You area of responsibility is one whole country, but you still have to keep track of shitty small upgrades like tank suspension. If you like this game you need help with your weapon fetishism.

Robotwars extreme destruction
I loved the first game, but in this one you have to play alot of games with shitty games like hammers and axes before you can get the fun flipping weapons wich sux. The menusystem is also bizzarly slow which frustrates a young man with a tight schedule like myself (seminar next wednesday).

Nba 2003
I havnt played the earlier versions, so I cant compare them, but this one is extremely nice. Excellent feeling and relavtive realism in the moves. Also nice to make a character with your own (lack of) skills, so it can be humiliated by the real nba players. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

Microsoft rallisport challange
With a 1,2Ghz cpu and a geforce3 card the game is totally unplayable. And I dont understand why, graphix isnt better than other rally games. (but what do I know about computer performance, Im just a wannabe psychologist, hehe)

Age of mythology
The sequel (if the word threequel exists its a threequel) to ages of empires. Perfect gamefeeling and nicely balanced game. Less complex than aoe, and the games dont take as long time. Very fun to build small fenris wolves and try to eat people.

Lord of the ring, Fellowship of the ring.
Usch. Nothing happens, nothing happens, then u do some boring tasks and then nothing happens again. Then a rider comes and you die. Usch

Civ3: Play the world
Nice game, very fun in turnless mode. Yes , turnless mode, hehe. Needs a upgrade patch to work properly in mutli though.

Ravenshield
As a devoted camper I like to have targets. In ravenshield people move in slow motion, so there is no rushing = no targets = boring. But there is hope, it might get changed until the real game gets out.

War and Peace
Uses the engine of Warriorkings/shogun totalwar/medieval war. You play one country in 1789-1815 europe. The game dont switch between strategicial map and action map like for example shogun does, all of the game is played in the action map, which is huge. The obvious disadvantage with this is the problem with identifying where your troops and cities are, and if finding your own stuff is hard, finding the opponents are impossible!

BomberFUN
Like atomoc bomberman in 3d. I cant understand why someone makes a 3d game of a perfect 2d one, but since I dont have atomic bomberman, I think this one is an ok substitute. One nice feature is that you can kick the bombs you drop over walls, and roll them at your opponent. The game supports 8 multiplayer players at same time. Quite ok game. But not a tenth as good as my beloved (40kb big) Dogfight for amiga. Sniff, sniff..

Installation finished, weeeeeeeeeee, wish me luck <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">
